About
Laureate and audience prize winner at the 63rd F. Busoni Competition (Italy, 2021), Vladimir Petrov is a Russian pianist who lived since the age of three in Mexico, which he has affectionately called his «homeland» Under the care of his parents and teachers (Valery Piassetsky, Elisso Virsaladze, and Grigorii Gruzman), he embarked on what is now a brilliant career as a pianist.
Vladimir Petrov is a graduate of the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow, Russia, and currently continues his studies at the Hochschule für Musik F. Liszt in Weimar, Germany.
His career is illustrated by his first prizes at international competitions, such as «Lotar Shevchenko» in Russia; «Ciudad de Vigo» in Spain; «Jose Jacinto Cuevas» (Yamaha) in Mexico; «NTD piano competition» in New York, United States and «Neapolitan Masters Competition» in Italy. In addition, his concert activity includes his performances in Spain, Cyprus, Russia, Germany, France, the USA, Malta, Holland, Switzerland, Canada, Mexico, Belarus, Romania and Chile Cyprus.

Ganador del II Concurso Internacional de Piano “Ciudad de Vigo” (edición Alicia de Larrocha).
Me alegra mucho celebrar mi primer lugar en el II concurso internacional de piano «Ciudad de Vigo» con el lanzamiento del disco «Encores». Gracias a la Asociación Música Clásica de Galicia por otorgarme esta oportunidad, es algo indescriptible. Además, quiero expresar un profundo agradecimiento a los Estudios Mans. ¡Fue un gran placer trabajar con ustedes!
Con música de Mendelssohn, Schumann, Chopin, Scriabin, Liszt, Tchaikovsky y Moszkowski, Vladimir ha hecho una selección muy personal de sus obras favoritas. Da la casualidad de que las piezas escogidas se dan para ser interpretadas como «encores», que son lo que un artista toca adicionalmente al finalizar un concierto, y esta idea terminó en lo que es el nombre del disco.
